Celebrate the Autumn Festival with these Moon Cakes

August 26, 2009 · 1 Comment

Flying to Hong Kong

Flying to Hong Kong

August 3, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So, I had originally scheduled my flight to Hong Kong for the first of August. Due to sudden change of plans I had to reschedule my arrival for two week earlier.  I do apologize to all whom were affected by such an abrupt change, as this change came as a surprise even to myself.  Well, this might have been due to some poor planning on my part, but nonetheless I have since arrived in Hong Kong. Now, needless to say I shortened my time in New York already, I had to make a quick stop in California before I embarked the 12 hour flight to Hong Kong.  Which by the way, was the best “Pre-trial”... [Read the full story]

First Night Out in Hong Kong

First Night Out in Hong Kong

October 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So, the first true night out to a Club in Hong Kong was to Club Cliq in support of a very special performance by the Chinese Canadian Music Artist Landon Ling.  Landon performed a few self recorded Hits and the rest the night was history. Club Cliq had a all the components of a Hip NYC night club, with a certain-not so obvious- Hong Kong  twist.  The corporate building entrance guarded by large lion statues, followed by the elevator lift to a Single door entrance to the Club, made it seem all the more foreign. Nonetheless, the performance was a Hit as HK “Lang Mo’s” (Young... [Read the full story]

Finding an Apartment in Hong Kong

Finding an Apartment in Hong Kong

August 7, 2009 · 4 Comments

So, after staying at the infamous Chung King Mansion in one of the hundreds of Hostels (Closets) and Guesthouses (Jail cells), I decided I needed to look for a more permanent living situation. An apartment with monthly rent sounded like something more resourceful than my daily stay in a cubby space, having to pay “Na-Na” my friendly Guyanese Guardsmen $170 HKD every morning before I left so I would not come back to find some other backpacker settled in my “C-Block” cell they called Room 7. With the help of Uncle Wing, who by the way has been a mentor, tour guide, guardian... [Read the full story]
